Sadly, Mrs Frances Riley a supporter of Margaret Haes Riding Centre for so many years, died on 17 April 2020 aged 100 years. Our thoughts are with her family. We want to share the words of Christine, her daughter.

‘In 1970 my parents moved to the Old Rectory in Holcombe Village and lived there for over 35 years. They took a great interest in the village and my mother worked for the Margaret Haes riding school for many years, both helping out there and as a fundraiser. My parents and Peggy along with others helped a group of disabled children ride to Windsor resting overnight at various country houses en route, where upon their destination they were all introduced to the Queen! Princess Anne also attended a MHRS event. My mother and Peggy Haes were great friends and used to go to Burghley together in a caravan with their respective dogs. She also had numerous other charitable interest’

What a remarkable woman!
