Pony Days

Pony Days at the Margaret Haes Riding Centre run during the school holidays (usually Friday but please ask for other days).

Pony days are fun, everyone looks forward to it and enjoys coming.

The aim is to balance fun and responsibility with each rider required to look after their own pony involving most of the activities that is required if you had your own horse including:

  • Pony Handling– Grooming, tacking up, control and leading
  • Stable Management– Mucking out and cleaning
  • Quiz
  • Instruction– including riding for a minimum of 1 hour

We are happy to help anybody learn new skills.

Suitable clothes required NO trainers

Bring a packed lunch with you.

£35 per child

10am – 2pm

Birthday Parties

Why not celebrate your child’s birthday or special occasion with us?

These parties are tailored to suit children’s ages, riding ability and are suitable for both riders and non riders. We can arrange for you to have a treasure hunt and hunt the Golden shoe.

Birthday parties include:

  • Riding
  • Games
  • Grooming

But DOES NOT include food but you are more than welcome to bring a picnic.

There is a minimum cost of £120 for 6 children and any child thereafter is £20 each

Private Lessons

We offer private lessons in our indoor or outdoor school for all abilities. You can use your own horse or one of ours.

Lessons during the week are £20 for half an hour or £30 for 45 minutes or £35 for 1 hour with our BHSII, UKCC Level 2- Senior Coach- Dianne Mallard


At weekend with our BHS AI or Stage 2 qualified instructors £18 for half an hour OR £15 each for a 2-1-1 lesson
